Please note: This is a starting template, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified attorney and fill in the bracketed details before publishing.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CCD Parent Portal (the “Service”), provided by Center for Child Development (“CCD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who may use the Service
The Service is intended for adults (parents and legal guardians) who are at least 18 years old. It is not directed to children. You are responsible for any activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.
2. The Service is educational — not medical advice
CCD provides educational resources, tools, and community features to support families between sessions. The Service does not provide medical, psychological, or clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and does not create a therapist–client or provider–patient relationship. Always consult a qualified professional about your child’s care.
The Service is not for emergencies. If you or your child is in danger or experiencing a crisis, call 911, or call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
3. Accounts
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
4. Memberships, billing, and cancellation
- Certain features require a paid CCD+ membership, billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis depending on the plan you choose.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full payment card details.
- Memberships automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel anytime through the billing portal in your account.
- When you cancel, you retain access until the end of the current paid period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
- We may change membership prices or features; we will give reasonable notice of material changes, which take effect on your next renewal.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, resell, or redistribute Service content without permission;
- share your account or membership access with others;
- misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service; or
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
6. Your content and tracking data
Personal tracking information you enter (such as mood, behavior, practice, and journal entries) is stored locally on your own device and is not transmitted to or stored by CCD. You are responsible for that information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Intellectual property
The Service and its content (text, videos, worksheets, graphics, and software) are owned by CCD or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the content for your own family’s use while your account is active.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (including Stripe for payments and our hosting and authentication providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content is accurate or complete.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CCD will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date, and material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
